The Loudoun Aircraft Noise Mitigation Committee (LANMC) is a citizens association, representing residents in South Loudoun County who are negatively affected by the excessive aircraft noise from Dulles International Airport. LANMC's steering committee include those with aviation, architecture, engineering, GIS mapping, commercial and residential development, and communications experience.
We are pro-Dulles, but we believe the airport should co-exist with Loudoun residents to protect and preserve the safety, value, and quality of life for those who live near the airport.
Though LANMC actively opposed Loudoun County's 2023 adoption of the updated Airport Impact Overlay District (AIOD), we have been gratified to see the County follow through on their promise to work the airport and the FAA to find flight path solutions that minimize disruption to Loudoun residents.
We recommended aviation consultants to the County with an excellent track record of working with communities and the FAA, and we look forward to hearing about future progress from these meetings. Updates are posted on our petition on Change.org.
The Loudoun Times-Mirror published a solid update on the AIOD and its history in April, 2023. Recommended reading.
LANMC and its efforts to improve the quality of life for Loudoun residents were also featured in the Washington Post, Loudoun Now, Washington Business Journal, and Loudoun Times-Mirror.
